May at Natural Light Photography

Upsherin season was definitely upon us this month. I loved having so many "almost big boys" playing in my studio and letting me photograph their gorgeous, long hair. Sometimes three year olds can be nervous, and I've definitely had my share of fearful tots, but somehow this year it was angels all the way. I couldn't post all of them here, so I just chose one or two that I especially liked. A special thank you to all the parents that allowed me to share their child's photos.
Now that its FINALLY warmer, I'm starting to think about summer. (Any of you remember my winter blog- I think it was January's.. where I complained about how cold it was? Anyway, I mentioned that before I turned around, it would be too hot to do anything? Well, so far I'm pleased as punch with spring's weather so winter just - stay away. A longs way.)
Summer for you guys might mean vacation from school, daycamp, or packing up for the bungalow, but for ME it means only one thing - Stunning Summer Portraits!! I look forward to these all year.
For those of you in the Catskills, I will be photographing families most Sundays, so call early to make your appointment. By the end of June, most of the days are already taken, so bear that in mind. I will come to your colony for a minimum of 6 families. Another thing that I started last summer which worked out very well was the option of doing Custom Portraits at my setting in Woodlake Village, Woodridge. You get the SAME discount packages as the colonies, and your sessions have no time limit, no clothing change limit, and trust me - the scenery is magnificent.
So you might want to consider this option if Bungalow Picture Day isn't your thing.
But for those in the bungalow- I'm offering a FREE portrait package for anyone who organizes the day of photos for your colony. Packages start at only 30 Dollars!!
If you need the full bungalow pricing information, drop me an email and I will send it to you.
Now for those staying home, don't feel left out. I'm planning two spectaular trips - one, to the beach (yay!!) and another to Propsect Park. I can only fit a few families in, so again please reserve early if you're interested.
And now for the photos...

Aaron was my first upsherin boy this month. His stunning eyes are a photographer's dream.

Aaron told me all about the special party he was going to have. He was especially excited about the "pekelach".

Of course we had to include Aaron's baby sister, Toby in the photos. Totty's hand (which I happen to love) made sure that this little two month old stayed safe in her brother's arms.

Mazal Tov Silbersteins! You should have only nachas from this beautiful little boy!
Next came this absolutely adorable two year old, Menachem. Menachem's infectious smile and amazing energy was contagious. I didn't want to let him leave.

Not all fun and games... we did some portraits too...

Big brother Gavriel joined us too. I love this natural, brotherly pose.

I'm experimenting with a new black and white tone for my monochromatic images. What do you think?

We did these two side by side. Awesome.

To show off his "ruggedness" we put on his jeans and gave him a rustic, old boat to work with.
Manly, no?

These boys have the cutest pajames ever! And I'm crazy about the matching Curious George animals!

Menachem taking a breather from all the photographing. Lucky me, cuz I got to shoot this wonderful, moving photo that now leads my Baby Gallery online.

Thanks for coming down boys! It was a pleasure!

These six kids came in for a special "grandchildren" portrait. Don't you just love the toes?
Besides for their photogenic faces, these guys had the most amazing personalities. We had a ball!
We did some individual family portraits too... (see below)

Adorable Avigdor came next for his pre-upsherin portraits! He was a little shy at first, but his big brother came down to help us out.

Remember the angels I mentioned before? Well, he's definitely one of them... I think this face is all heart...

Entertaining us some more...

With Avigdor's strawberry blonde hair, I knew my green Designer would look great.

A classic collage for the 3 year old's bedroom...

C.Z. and her baby brother came all the way from Williamsburg to have their portraits taken! I love the look of black and white for spring...

I think C.Z. is trying to tell baby Hershy that he's a little young for a blackberry...

I can't honestly say that Hershy was in the best mood to have his picture taken, but with that adorable face, did it even matter?

What's with the big eyes Hershy? Its not like you've never seen a camera before...

And finally, one more portrait of C.Z.

Its been a wonderful, photogenic month. Happy Spring, y'all!
