March 09 at Natural Light Photography

Quiet this month, though not by choice. I had to reschedule my customers from the last two weeks of March. Don't know from where, but I caught a really nasty ear infection that spread to the bones behind my ear and perforated my ear drum. I don't know if any of you have ever had a perforated ear drum but it really hurts! I was seeing stars for about a week! Three doctors, and three different antibiodics later, I'm finally on the mend, but it still isn't perfect yet. Kinda feels like I'm on an airplane, plus if two people talk at the same time, I can't really hear anything.
But if there's one thing to be grateful for, at least it happened now and not over yom tov. We're going to a hotel for yom tov and I'm really looking forward to it and it would've been the pits to be sick in bed the whole time, you know?

Thanks to all of you that I had to reschedule appointments for - thanks for understanding - and we will get right to you iy"H!

Meanwhile, here are a few from earlier this month. And over the weekend, when I was feeling better, I dug out some of my kids' yom tov clothing with the hope of photographing them in their new outfits. Unfortunately, after the first clothing change, my kids said, "We're Done," (in the way only they can) and that was the end of that. But we did get some really nice shots of each of them in one new outfit, plus I finally got a cool montage of Ita for her bedroom.

Heads up - after Pesach until the summer - its my biggest season, especially for upsherins. Please book your appointments early - I don't want to have to turn anyone down, especially if you need a Sunday. Plus - as a special Mazal Tov to my Lag Baomer three year olds- I have a FREE portrait package waiting for you when you book your sitting. Enjoy!

I want to wish all of you a CHAG KASHER V'SAMEACH!! Enjoy your Yom Tov! And ladies, once you have finished cleaning and cooking, please try to relax and enjoy the time with the kids and the family.
Hope to see you next year at Natural Light Photography - Jerusalem.
Happy Pesach!!!

Its been ages since I've had my nephews in for pictures... and little Huda was due for his "post upsherin" photos. (See below)
Surprised you - yep, this little man used to have an entire headful of strawberry blond curls!

The hair came off, but none of the chein. Huda is 100% yum - he's also my Ita's little boyfriend. They were born 6 months apart, named after a set of grandparents, and even look alike.

Mazal Tov Shaindy and Chesky on your newest "big boy"! You should continue to have loads of nachas from him and all your boys.

Okay, I'll admit it - Donny's always had my number, ever since I met him for the first time as a spunky two year old with messy curls and a tattered blue blanket. Maybe that's why I love photographing him.

These blazers, in honor of yom tov, look really sharp. We've sure moved on from that blanket...

Gorgeous Yitz, the oldest. This one knows everything...it only took him about 5 minutes to figure out how to operate all the studio equipment. When I asked him if he wanted to be a photographer when he grew up, he quickly replied, "No way, I want to be an engineer."
Okay, so he's out of my league already. It was nice while it lasted.

So handsome...

On our way out, we grabbed one quick sibling portrait - and look at that- it turned out to be my favorite. I uploaded it onto the Families Gallery on my site.
And these boys have two more little brothers that we will hopefully get to later this week, so I'll post them next time.

Yum... is there anything more delicous than a newborn? No, nothing!

This sleeping beauty was just the right size for my basket/blanket shot.

Just to prove that, yes, she's a girl...

I've had the pleasure of photographing this family before... take a look below...they're a little bigger now and just as much fun!

(This is their famously adorable shot from last year..)

This is Bentzy, the oldest. He's so photogenic and such a natural at posing. I had a great time with him.

Moishy's the second... This one kept me entertained with all his various talents (climbing, piano playing..) And he was even giving me photography tips (hey you never know..)

Zev Aryeh was a ball of fun! I just gave him his space and said, "Go do your thing." And he did.

I caught this moment, not even intending to, but I love his expression here.

Here's baby Tzvi in the first, and only, Yom Tov outfit he allowed me to get him into. (There are eight days of Yom Tov right?) Help.

If I may, I would like to offer up a tremendous congratulations to myself for actually getting this little tot to pose for a picture! He's almost 18 months now and is ALL OVER THE PLACE! He doesn't sit still for a second. I didn't have high hopes of getting anything decent of him, but with a few tricks and some pre-planning, I managed to succeed. Yay.

He's still the boss of me though. And the boss of the house. Okay he's pretty much the boss of everything.

Okay, aww.. How can I ever be anything but gooey over this little guy?

Ita cooperated great. Nothing that the promise of a gum lolly can't do! And no, she is not going to be wearing those red boots on yom tov, although they really work for this photo. (She isn't going to wear the boots on yom tov, she isn't going to wear the boots... don't mind me, I'm trying to gear myself up..)

Aww... my little baby's growing up... not such a baby anymore...

Isn't this cute? It's much bigger in real life... I print these composites as a 10x30 and they look so ADORABLE over a bed or crib. I don't even mind the boots here... they add to the overall look, IMHO.

P.S. When I took out the next dress, she gave me one look and said, "Gum Lolly."

And that was that.
