Summer 08 at Aviva Rand Photography

So... its like I blinked - and it was September. That's how fast the summer flew for me. But it was a really nice two months. I had just enough work to keep me from getting bored, and just enough rest so I looked forward to working again. I spent a lot of time visiting some of my family from out of town, and some nice relaxing weekends with my family in town, a couple of day trips, and tons and TONS of photos!
That was the best part. Meeting all the families in the different bungalow colonies, all the cute kids - tanned and healthy looking... You all looked like you were having a great time. Thank you to everyone who arranged the different bungalow colony groups, thanks for the water bottles, rugelach and cookies and for the OFF! spray (which will definitely be in my camera bag next summer!)
To everyone who came to me at Woodlake village for private sittings, it was a pleasure meeting you and your children. I hope you'll agree that the short shlep was worth it!
And its... onward towards another year. I will be adding more props and more backdrops to the studio - and some other surprises. I have a few new lighting tricks that I'm anxious to try out. And the website has a BUNCH of new photos - check it out.

Hatzlacha to you all on the upcoming year. There'll be one more newsletter before yom tov so I will save the New Year wishes for then...
Here are just a couple of photos from this past summer. I would have loved to do one from each family but there was no way I could fit that into one newsletter so I just chose some that captured my eye... Enjoy.

Shana was one of my first Woodlake customers. I'm crazy over this photo.

Little sis Ariella was all smiles. Delicious!

A winner. Love the clothes, love the faces, love the smiles. Love everything.

(On to the bungalow colonies...) Sisters Miri and Tzivi share a quiet, outdoor moment together.

Little sister Tzivi was laughing about something, but didn't let me in on the secret...

Miri seemed to find it funny though, whatever it was.

This family coordinated their navy and whites to create a natural summery look.

How cute are these two? Here are Pessi and Rachelli - having a blast.

This family was so original - gray and white - and it really worked. One of my favorite family shots from this summer.

Gorgeous.

Only one of many twins I had the honor of photographing this summer, but Binyomin and Yehuda's smiles stole my heart.

This could be my favorite photo from the whole summer. Avi and Benny (twins again!) are old friends (they've met my camera before), and this un-posed shot makes for such a summer classic.

Gizzi was a natural poser. And her wardrobe was impeccable too!

Here's a touching photo, (hand tinted in Photoshop) but the softness of it speaks to the tender way she's holding her new baby, Moshe.

Here's another example of hand tinting. Tamar is one of the cutest four year olds I met this summer!

After a long day shooting, little Leahle came a long and made it all worth it. Sweet, fun and big smiles all the way.

You can see where Leahle gets her "photogenic-ness" from. Big brother Kalmi was a natural model.

Aww... and how sweet is this?

When we photographed these three last summer, they were just babies. Now they're all grown up! (well, almost)

Mom said we wouldn't get any smiles from little Dovie, but we sure proved her wrong!

This is probably my favorite girl's photo from this summer. Chayala is just delicious!

Rivky's dark hair make a stunning contrast against the soft pink dress. Beautiful.

I barely recognized Ari. He was just a newborn last year. Somehow, he got even more delicious this year! He has such a photogenic baby face!

Equally as photogenic, big sister Aliza was a joy. Every picture was a keeper.

These "Irish Twins", born 11 months apart, are clearly best friends.

This is my friend's new baby, Azriel. He is such a yum.

I had a blast with these three. They kept me so entertained! We did a bunch of poses, but I think I like this one best.

Little Dovie had these poses down pat! Thanks for bringing him down, Mom.

In the end, it was the bubbles that brought out the biggest smiles from little Avi. But this adorable smirk is the winning photo for me.

And finally, this is Ita's summer photo. (we used lemon ices..) I made a gorgeous gallery wrap to hang in my viewing room next to my son's (see below).

It was hard to pick my favorite of baby Tzvi. I shot so many pictures of him this summer. He grew up over these last two months...I really don't have a newborn anymore. He brings us so much joy, ka"h that we are finally forgiving him for those first three months...

Ahh... kids, summertime, vacation... its a winning threesome.
